Balancing Tradition and Tech: A Look into My Latest Projects
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible pace of innovation happening right here in Nashville. Between my ongoing work with the teams at Co-X Holdings and the groundbreaking developments at Monarrch, it’s been a season of high-stakes operations and exciting milestones.
The Backbone of Growth: Co-X Holdings
First and foremost, I’m continuing my role at Co-X Holdings, working closely with our managing directors, Paul Adkison and Scott Diggs. As the "utility man" handling Operations and Marketing, I’ve had a front-row seat to how we scale businesses across diverse sectors—from the Hilton Garden Inn in Greenville, NC (our 2025 Hotel of the Year!) to our strategic investments in property management with partners like Vantaca.
At Co-X, our philosophy is simple: we don’t just invest; we join the team. My focus remains on ensuring our teams have the operational infrastructure and marketing clarity they need to exceed their goals while staying true to our "golden rule" values.
Enforcing the ELVIS Act: The Rise of Monarrch
On a parallel track, I’ve been heavily involved in operations for Monarrch, a company that is fundamentally changing how we think about Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property.
If you’ve been following the news, you know that Tennessee led the nation with the ELVIS Act in 2024, creating a legal shield for an artist’s voice and likeness. In a story from WSMV (Local NBC Affiliate in Nashville, TN) pointed out, "Laws only work when they can be enforced".
This week, we hit a major milestone. Monarrch unveiled our new technology designed to bridge the gap between legislation and implementation. Here is the core of what we’re building:
Digital Style Fingerprinting: Our tech analyzes an artist's body of work to create a distinct digital profile.
The Lawful AI Economy: We’ve developed an Engine that allows creators to set boundaries and receive real-time royalties when their likeness is used by generative AI.
Empowering Choice: As our product lead Finbar O’Hanlon puts it, an artist shouldn't have to choose between being exploited or excluded. You should have the right to say yes, no, or set the conditions.
Looking Ahead
Whether it’s streamlining operations for a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio or building the operational backbone for the future of how IP owners are compensated, the goal is the same: building systems that protect creativity and reward hard work.
I’m grateful to be working with such visionary leaders and can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
